On October 17th not only did I stand up for neglected women in developing countries but I also spoke out against the poor education, poor healthcare, insecure social structure and discriminatory laws on gender basis, pathetic working conditions, longer working hours, lower wages all causing massive injustice, hunger and poverty.
If hunger and poverty are part of the problem and the cause of other evils we must take a stand and speak out against it. The GCAP campaign provides us a platform previously lacking internationally and nationally. We need to make some one responsible for the eradication and elimination of the suffering along with the root causes.
We in Pakistan stand up and speak out on our national issues and remind the state to fulfil their promises to eliminate Child and Bonded labour but especially to develop gender equality.
My message to the world leaders: Please put 25 % of GDP to provide education, healthcare and training to women, especially in rural areas, so they’re able to raise their living standards. We also ask that you reduce expenditure on defence and divert it towards the above poverty eradication areas.
