One busy dayPosted by Administrator in Untagged |
The sun is up and mark the 17th of October. One busy day for all to make another history to the world.
Taking it one step further, there can only be one reason. Poverty is the name of the game. Therefore, we as the youth of our nation are still searching on what will be the key to play and win the game. We don't actually know what exactly it is but we are and will always be confident that our sacrifices will ultimately bear fruit. We just want to promote the human world as ONE on the fight against poverty. As with the rest of us, we have our own families, friends, and different lives to fulfill and October 17 was another chance. If someone would try to ask me why I chose to stand up and be heard on that day, my answer is simply to give an emphasis on my daily life. I learned how to walk, eat, stand, sit, speak, sleep, play, study, and work. October 17 was in the midst of my existence that I expressed my compassion to stand up and speak out against poverty and inequality. Now I know that I was born into this world entirely to set an example to my fellow youth. Truly, I am still learning everything from family relations to social and political participation on every aspect of life.
However, I have my own question in mind. What about our government officials? Where are they during the event? Does it always have to be the poor who will stand up for their welfare. If they can't stand up for a day, then what can they offer?
October 17 was known as the World Poverty Day. Another chance for each and everyone of us to stand up and scream out - ENOUGH OF POVERTY! It could have felt good to see the whole world rise up on that day. Be it a child, an adult, a government official, or a convict.
One year has passed since we stood up against poverty. It still feels strange and thought it was a bit too far for us to reach the MDGs.
Anyway, the thing is...we still did it the best way we can. It was just the beginning of our journey. Just keep going and fighting.
If all hell broke lose and poverty is a never ending story, we have at least one story to tell the world the meaning of our struggle.
And that's something to tell.
"Be like a plum tree in the chill of winter, able to endure the tests of ice and snowy weather."
