Entertainment: platform for young people to engage in fight against poverty

Miss University of Zambia (UNZA) 2007 was an entertainment with a difference. Young people came from different parts of the capital Lusaka to witness the crowning of the new queen. Held on December 7, 2007, the event was altogether different from those held in the past....the organizing committee decided to give it a challenging theme: 'Stand Up and Speak Out against Poverty'

A month ago Zambia observed its National Day. This has always been a time of much jubilation as people dress up in national colours....like one of those days when our National Soccer Team emerges victorious in a match.

Stand Up 2007 in Zambia

 

THE Stand Up Event in Zambia was well and extensively attended by various members of the civil society and local community. Despite the failure by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Representative to attend and flag off the match, the Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) Executive Dire
